Celebrate Black History Month 1 - 31 October 2023
Black History Month (BHM) is a month dedicated to celebrating communities and culture all around the world. This years theme isCelebrating our Sisters
This year Barnet Council will be marking Black History Month with a range of events, including providing funding to community groups to host events throughout October.
Local communities and organisations can now apply to the council for funding to support their activities for this year's BHM.
Applications for Funding are now closed
Community organisations can apply for £500 - £1,000 to host an event or activity to celebrate BHM 2023 in Barnet.
In exceptional circumstances bids over £1,000 will be considered. The grant can support new or already planned activities that are open to all members of the local community. Examples of events and activities include talks, film showings, performances, art projects and exhibitions, food and cooking events. Joint applications are encouraged and will be considered.
We would however encourage you to apply as early as possible as we reserve the right to close the application process early if we receive an overwhelming response.
