Barnet has a great collection of parks and open spaces and these are an important part of what makes Barnet a green and family friendly borough. This consultation is asking for your views on the play facilities in Victoria Park which is in Church End, Finchley (close to Finchley Central and West Finchley tube stations).

The council sold The Lodge in Victoria Park in 2015 and it is a requirement that any funds raised from the sale will only be spent on Victoria Park. The council, along with Groundwork London, developed a Master Plan for the park, which

This consultation is asking for your views on the play facilities in Victoria Park which is in Church End, Finchley (close to Finchley Central and West Finchley tube stations).

Background

The council sold The Lodge in Victoria Park in 2015 and it is a requirement that any funds raised from the sale will only be spent on Victoria Park. The council, along with Groundwork London, developed a Master Plan for the park, which was agreed and adopted by the Council as Trustee of Victoria Park Trust in early 2019.

The Master Plan has been informed by feedback through the public consultation carried out in 2018 which identified the activities local residents wanted prioritised in the Master Plan. The number one priority for local residents was “New playground facilities” £200,000 has been identified in the Master Plan to make changes to the two Play Facilities.

What are we seeking your views on?

The play facilities proposed for the Play Area near Long Lane. This is designed to be an older children’s play area.

The play facilities proposed for the Play Area near the Café. This is designed to be a toddler and younger children’s play area.

  • The council will also have two pop up events in the park, so you can look at the proposals for the two play areas. Council staff will be on hand to discuss the plans and answer any questions you may have. The dates and locations of these pop up events are: Play Area near the Café, Tuesday 16/4/19 11am to 3pm and Play Area near Long Lane 18/4/19 11am to 3pm
