Overview
Barnet has a great collection of parks and open spaces and these are an important part of what makes Barnet a green and family friendly borough. The council wants to ensure that they are of the best possible quality and designed with the residents who will use them in mind. We are currently working on improving the parks in Colindale. The first two parks, Montrose Playing Fields and Silkstream Park are nearing completion and we would now like to hear your views on the proposed improvements to Rushgrove Park.
Background
In 2017, Barnet Council developed a Parks and Opens Spaces Strategy which reviewed the parks in Barnet and put forward suggestions for their development. One of these was to explore options for improvement to Rushgrove Park. We have now appointed EVA Studio, together with LUC and Civic Engineers, to undertake a full appraisal of the options available to Rushgrove Park.
How have we involved the community so far in developing our plans?
Earlier this year we asked residents, users of the parks and local ward councillors for their feedback on the park, to get a better understanding of what improvements they would most like to see. Based on this initial feedback EVA Studio have now developed the draft masterplan for Rushgrove Park.
What we are seeking your views on
We would like to hear your views on the design. Even if you don’t currently use the park, we still welcome your views. You can view the draft masterplan and how we acted on your previous feedback here.
We will also be holding a drop-session where you can view the plans and ask any questions. This will take place on Saturday 23rd November from 10:30-1 at Colindale Park.
We welcome responses from everyone including organisations interested in the future development of these sites. We would also like to hear the views of people from outside the London Borough of Barnet area.
