Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, and is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwāl, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
Funding for EID and Ramadan Events
Barnet will be marking the month of Ramadan by providing funding to host The BIg Iftar Event in partnership with Middlesex University and Barnet Multi-faith Forum.
Funding has also been made available from the Community Events Fund for community groups to hold events for Eid.
If you are a registered Community group, you can apply for £500 - £1,000 to host an event.
The closing date for applications for funding for Eid events is Wednesday 19th April at 12 noon, however we would advise on an early application as we reserve the right to close the application process early if we receive an overwhelming response
