Barnet Council is the admissions authority for 39 community primary schools, including Queenswell Junior School. The Council is consulting on changes to the admission arrangements for September 2022, as outlined below. The consultation will open on 7 December 2020 and will close on 31 January 2021.

Reduction to the Published Admission Number (PAN) for Queenswell Junior School, from 90 places to 60 places

Queenswell Infant and Nursery is the link infant school to Queenswell Junior School. The infant school has already reduced its PAN from 90 to 60 places, following a fall in demand for school places since 2017. Therefore, the number of places currently available at Queenswell Junior does not reflect the number of children that will be transferring from the infant to junior school, in September 2022. The proposal to reduce Queenswell Junior School’s intake from 90 to 60 places will bring the junior school’s PAN in line with the infant school’s PAN.

The proposed PAN reduction will also support Queenswell Junior School’s financial planning and ensure the most efficient use of the school’s resources. Our school roll projections show that the reduction will not lead to a shortage of school places as there enough places in the area to meet the expected future demand. However, should the demand for Queenswell Infant and Junior Schools increase over the coming years, the PAN will be reviewed.

No other changes to the admission arrangements for community schools are proposed.
