Have your say on Barnet’s Draft Parking Charges Policy
Overview
We are consulting on a new draft Parking Charges Policy. Parking charges help to manage limited parking places to contribute to the accessibility of town centres and other controlled areas, as well as helping us tackle air pollution, achieve our 2030 Net-Zero target, and promote active travel. This links closely with our Corporate Plan of caring for people, our places and the planet, and our wider Transport Strategy which we are currently engaging on.
Why do we need a Parking Charges Policy?
Charges for parking have been set and revised over a number of years in a way which has meant we now have a variety of charges that makes it difficult for visitors to make informed decisions about their travel.
Charges for resident parking in the controlled parking zones or permit parking area within which they live are not within the scope of this policy.
Aim of the policy
The aim of the policy is to set out the basis on which parking charges will be set in the future. Further information on our proposals provided in ourDraft Parking Charges Policy which outlines the basis on which parking charges will be set. We have also provided a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document which provides more information regarding Parking Charges
How to have your say
We want to hear your views on our proposed policy. We want to hear from residents, organisations, businesses and all other interested parties .and encourage you to have your say by completing our online questionnaire
If you are unable to complete the questionnaires online and would like to request a paper copy or another format of the questionnaires, please
email parking.clientteam@barnet.gov.uk
or write to Parking Client Team, London Borough of Barnet, 3rd Floor, Highways, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.
If you would like someone to help you complete the questionnaire or need more information, please contact us using one of the above methods.
What happens after the engagement closes?
We will use the consultation findings to inform our final decision. We will publish the results of the consultation, our decision and how we are acting on the results of the consultation on this web page in February 2025.
