Overview

In Barnet, like many other local authorities, we have a system of parking bays and parking permits that prioritise parking for local residents, businesses and their visitors and customers. These systems are called Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ).

Residents of Normandy Avenue have raised concerns about the high levels of parking by non-residents, which in turn is making it difficult to find available kerbside space, despite paying for Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) permits for use Monday to Friday between the hours of 2pm and 3pm.

In response to this, the Chipping Barnet Area Committee has agreed that this issue should be investigated and as such have decided that an informal consultation with residents should be carried out. Due to its close proximity, we have decided to include Bedford Avenue in the consultation.

This consultation is intended to give the council a clearer understanding of the parking issues in these roads and help determine whether any changes may be made to improve parking availability for local residents in the area.

The consultation area is shown on the plan here.
