Overview

In Barnet, like many other local authorities, we have a system of parking bays and parking permits that prioritises parking for local residents, businesses and their visitors and customers. These systems are called Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ).

The council has been made aware of concerns from residents about the high levels of non-resident parking in Elmcroft Avenue and neighbouring roads which in turn is making it difficult for residents to find available kerbside space.

In response to these concerns, the Finchley and Golders Green Area Committee have agreed that this issue should be investigated. We are therefore carrying out a consultation with residents and businesses in Elmcroft Avenue and adjacent roads of the existing Golders Green CPZ.

This informal consultation is intended to give the council a clearer understanding of the parking issues in these roads to help determine whether any changes may be made to improve parking availability for residents.

Why we are consulting

We are keen to hear your views. Please take the time to review the plan and then give us your views by completing the online questionnaire. We are asking each household to complete only one questionnaire, so please ensure that the views given are representative of your household.

If you are unable to complete the questionnaire online and would like to request a paper copy, please email parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or telephone the Traffic and Development Section on 020 8359 3555.

Any paper copies should be sent to the Traffic and Development Section, London Borough of Barnet, 6th Floor, Highways, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, NW9 4EW.

If you live in the affected roads we are particularly keen to hear your views. Properties within the affected area have been sent a letter inviting them to complete a questionnaire. If you live in the area and have not received a letter please email us or write to us, using the contact details above.

Please ensure you have completed your questionnaire by Tuesday 17 January 2020.

All the responses will be analysed and the outcome will help us determine what action needs to be taken to address areas of concern.
