Noemi opened Beyond Move in East Barnet village in January 2020. “We wanted to create a place which is kind, friendly and welcoming, which offers inclusion so that everyone, including people with disabilities feel welcome in our studio because it’s very important that the community is supported in the wider range.”
“The name is Beyond Move, we wanted to be more than just movement and a Pilates place. It’s very important that people support each other, whether we’re talking about local people coming in but also our teachers are from the local area.”
Three months after Beyond Move opened, the first national lockdown was announced, and the studio had to quickly adapt to the changing environment all the classes were made available online so that people felt encouraged to keep their level of physical activity, and also provided the opportunity for members to stay socially connected.
“It’s important for people to support local businesses because it brings the community together and it brings variety to the high street.” - Olga, member of Beyond Move
