Overview

In Barnet, like many other local authorities, we have a system of parking bays and parking permits that prioritise parking for local residents, businesses and their visitors and customers. These systems are called Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ).

Residents of Daws Lane have signed a petition raising concerns regarding the high levels of parking on their road by non-residents, which in turn is making it difficult for residents to find available kerbside space. These residents have requested for the inclusion of their section of road in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).

In response to this, the Hendon Area Committee has agreed that this issue should be investigated and have decided that an informal consultation be carried out with residents and businesses of Daws Lane, Hammers Lane and the “Poets Corner” roads the area on whether they would wish for their roads to be part of a CPZ.

The consultation area is shown on the plan here.

The views received from the community will help us decide on whether or not the Council will progress a scheme that would prioritise parking for the residents and local businesses in the area.

Why we are consulting

We are keen to hear your views. Please take the time to review the plan and then give us your views by completing the online questionnaire. We are asking each household to complete one questionnaire only, so please ensure the views given are representative of your household.

If you are unable to complete the questionnaire online and would like to request a paper copy, please email parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or telephone the Traffic and Development Section on 020 8359 3555.

Any paper copies should be sent to the Traffic and Development Section, London Borough of Barnet, 6th Floor, Highways, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.

If you live in the affected roads we are particularly keen to hear your views. Properties within the affected area have been sent a letter inviting them to complete a questionnaire. If you live in the area and have not received a letter please email us or write to us, using the contact details above.

All the responses will be analysed and the outcome will help us determine what action needs to be taken to address the areas of concern.
