Overview
We are consulting on a proposal to adopt a Cumulative Impact Zone (CIZ) in Burnt Oak, to help make a positive impact on alcohol-related harm and anti-social behaviour in the area.
A CIZ may help to limit the number or types of licence applications granted in areas where there is evidence to show that the number or density of licensed premises in the area is having a cumulative impact and leading to problems which are undermining the licensing objectives. There must be a good evidential basis for a decision to publish a CIZ.
A CIZ is being considered in the Burnt Oak ward following a review earlier this year where it was identified as an alcohol related violence/crime hotspot. Following the review, the Licensing Committee determined there was evidence to support the consideration of a CIZ in Burnt Oak.
We want to give everyone the opportunity to have their say on the proposed CIZ before a decision is made. All feedback received will be taken into consideration by the Licensing Committee when they meet on 11 November 2019 and decide what recommendations they will make to the council.
