We want to hear your ideas to help us develop Burnt Oak into a vibrant and exciting place to live, work study, play, and visit. This is part of an exciting new project to help improve Burnt Oak Town Centre.
The project will aim to celebrate the unique local identity of Burnt Oak and identify actions that will help support Burnt Oak Town Centre to flourish and become more accessible, welcoming, safer, and an active place for all to live, work, study and enjoy.
To help us develop this project, we have appointed Erect Architecture to support our engagement with the Burnt Oak community and ensure as far as possible you are all actively involved in the co-design of your town centre.
The first stage of this engagement is to hear how you are connected to Burnt Oak Town Centre, which amenities you use, and your initial thoughts on how we could improve the town centre.
Your views are important to us
It is important that the project is informed by local people who live, shop, study, work or run businesses within the local area. We encourage anyone with an interest in the town centre to provide their input.
We want to hear your views, in particular we want to hear from community and cultural organisations, local residents, businesses and all other interested parties.
How to get involved
You can do this in various ways:
- complete our online questionnaire - we are keen to hear your views on Burnt Oak Town Centre and how you currently use the town centres amenities
- complete a paper copy of the questionnaire which are available at Burnt Oak Library or alternatively you can request a paper questionnaire or another format by emailing burntoak@erectarchitecture.co.uk
- if you want to be more involved with helping us plan this exciting project, you can also join our Burnt Oak Community Steering Group, please contact towncentres@barnet.gov.uk
Next steps for involving the community
A far reaching engagement plan is being developed by Erect Architecture and we will update this page with more ways for you to get involved.
The engagement plan will entail working with the local community and undertaking a range of engagement activities, workshops and conversations to help inform and develop the different components of the work. Through a combination of on-street pop-up engagement, online surveys and co-design workshops, our aim is to develop a plan that will ensure Burnt Oak becomes a vibrant and exciting place to be.
