Overview
The Barnet Parks and Open Spaces Strategy sets out a vision for the future of greenspaces, in which our parks have the ability to deliver social, economic and environmental benefits, supporting communities and attractive neighbourhoods.
Background
In March 2018, the councils Environment Committee endorsed a draft masterplan for the Copthall Sports Hub and adjoining Mill Hill Open Spaces. Following a period of consultation on the initial draft, which broadly demonstrated the support for the proposals (for both Copthall and Mill Hill Open Spaces), key responses affecting the design specifically in relation to the Copthall Sports Hub section of the masterplan were received.
As a result the Barnet Copthall Sports Hub Masterplan has been updated to reflect the feedback responses. The revision to the design maintains the long-term vision for the site which seeks to provide traditional and non-traditional opportunities with the ability to deliver a range of benefits for residents.
There are no proposed amendments to the adjoining Mill Hill Open Spaces masterplans and we are seeking your views on a revision to the Barnet Copthall Sports Hub Masterplan only.
We want to give everyone – regardless of whether they currently are a user of Barnet Copthall or not the opportunity to have their say on the proposals before a final decision is made. A final report outlining recommendations will be provided to the Councils Environment Committee in 2019.
For any further information, or to request a questionnaire in an alternative format, please email parks@barnet.gov.uk Alternatively, you can write to us at Greenspaces & Leisure, London Borough of Barnet, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London, N11 1NP.
