Parents across Barnet have been asked for their consent so that their 12 to 15-year-olds can be vaccinated in the coming weeks.
Miri and Gil Benchetrit from Hendon explained why they consented for their 12-year-old daughter to get the COVID-19 vaccine:
“Given the risks of COVID-19 all around us, we foremost want our daughter to be protected. Transmission in schools is very high and it is not fair to let out children live in fear and stress of getting ill or having to isolate. Children and young people have had so much disruption to their lives already and they deserve to live with some reassurance that they have even a degree of immunity.”
The vaccine is primarily being delivered to 12 to 15-year-olds in their schools via NHS-run clinics. Parents have been sent a form to give their consent.
