Discover Barnet Presents is a programme of events that encourages the safe return to our town centres, high streets, parks and open spaces. Everyone is invited to come together safely and celebrate local talent, local businesses, local communities and everything that makes Barnet a great place to live.

What’s on this winter: Discover Barnet Presents and Barnet’s Winter Faiths Festival

The Discover Barnet Presents Winter Festival and Barnet’s Winter Faiths Festival are celebrating the winter season with a diverse and family-friendly programme of seasonal events taking place throughout the borough.

From festive markets and firework displays, to pantomimes, carol services, and menorah lighting, everyone is invited to join this winter's celebrations.

November

Diwali celebration in Burnt Oak
5pm, Mon 1 Nov, Burnt Oak Library

Come and celebrate Diwali outside Burnt Oak Library. Join members of Barnet’s Hindu, Jain and Sikh communities as we mark the beginning of the festival of light and the first event of Barnet’s Winter Faiths Festival. It’s free to attend, and all are welcome. The celebrations will take place outside, weather permitting, so wrap up warm!


Burnt Oak Library will be giving away activity packs for children on Monday 1 Nov, from 3.30pm until 8pm, so bring the children in after school while you’re waiting for the 5pm lights switch on, or any time afterwards until 8pm. Please note activity packs will be offered on a first-come first-served basis, while stocks last.

Har Din Diwali (Every Day is Diwali)
Film and Faith Discussion Panel to celebrate the festival of Diwali
6-7pm, Wed 3 Nov, online

Watch the film Har Din Diwali at a time that suits you and then join panel members Cllr Caroline Stock, Dr James Martin Charlton, Revd. Dr Julie Gittoes, Rabbi Jeff Berger and Anna Hussain from Nisa-Nashim for questions and a lively online discussion about the film.

Free to attend. People of all faiths and none are welcome.

Middlesex Inter Faith Network in collaboration with Barnet Multi Faith Forum are proud to present their second film discussion, with the aim to create dialogue and learn from each other. Register here.

StoneX Stadium Annual Fireworks Display
Gates open 6.30pm / Display starts 7.30pm, Sat 6 Nov, StoneX Stadium

With amazing fireworks, entertainment and various food and drink options available this is an event not to miss!

Tickets: £10 for adults / £5 for under 16s.

If you are attending the Saracens vs London Irish game that day you are welcome to stay and watch the fireworks post match at no extra cost. There will also be FREE parking available at the stadium on a first-come, first-served basis.

Inking Workshop

Local neighbours and members of all faiths are welcome to join this evening of Chanukah candle lighting, sharing and refreshments. Children and adults welcome. All those aged 11+ are asked to wear a face covering while in the building and to take a lateral flow test before attending.

The Elves Who Saved Christmas

Come on an exciting journey from the desert to the jungle to the north pole with fun characters and great songs as the elves race to find the magic dust so Santa can deliver presents on time for Christmas. Running time: approx 40 mins.

This playful and light-hearted show is inspired by the true story of an unlikely friendship between a husky and a wild polar bear. Set against the frosty backdrop of the Arctic, Breaking the Ice is a non-verbal show which combines physical theatre, puppetry, interactive projection, animation and traditional Sami music.
