Meet Christian – Co-Owner of Ebony & Ivory

11 Varley Parade, NW9 6RR

https://ebonyivory.co.uk/

Christian is the Co-Owner of Ebony & Ivory Music Shop and Music School, which has been a fixture on Colindale’s high street since his father established it 40 years ago. The shop upstairs specialises in pianos and string instruments, from electric guitars to ukuleles, and the school is located downstairs – a warren of individual recording studios and music practice rooms.

“I think it’s important to shop locally because you get that personal touch you just don’t get online. Cameron has been coming here since he was young and bought his first guitar from us. He’s 18 now and works here with us a few days a week while he is studying.

“Over the years we’ve had many generations coming through. We’ve had sons and daughters and grandfathers and grandmothers coming in – shopping and looking at instruments. It’s nice when customers can come in, and they can feel and touch the instruments and ask for advice. On the internet you just don’t get that personal experience.”
