Celebrating the people who together make Barnet

Barnet has a proud history of people from diverse communities living happily side by side.

Together, we are Barnet celebrates the inspiring stories of the rich mix of people who call our borough home, highlighting some of our many groups, sports teams and local projects, as well as individuals, who contribute so much to our community.

The campaign is a joint initiative of Barnet Council working in partnership with NHS Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group, Metropolitan Police, Saracens Rugby Club, West London Business, Inclusion Barnet, Groundwork, Federation of Small Businesses, Argent, Middlesex University, the Department for Work and Pensions, Barnet and Southgate College, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, and Volunteering Barnet.

How you can get involved

Whether you live, work or study in the borough we would love for you to take part:

  • Send us a photo of yourself, to feature in our online gallery and ‘faces of Barnet’ community artwork project and share a short message about why you enjoy living in Barnet’s diverse community

Groups and projects

If you’re a member of a group, then we’d like to hear your story. Send us a 100-word summary explaining what your group does, how it unites people of different backgrounds, and how it is benefiting your community. Please email barnet.first@barnet.gov.uk. We may feature your group as a case study as part of our campaign.

Community Events

If you would like us to promote on this page any community events that bring together Barnet’s diverse communities, please contact the Strategy Team at strategy@barnet.gov.uk.

If you are a local community organisation you can also be listed on Barnet’s searchable community database. It’s the best way to let residents, partners and the council find out about your organisation and what you do. To find out more please click here.
