Proposed Permits for Castle Road, Stanhope Road, Stanhope Road Lower, and Woodhouse Road Car Park

Closed 19 Sep 2013

Opened 15 Aug 2013

Overview

In order to make better use of the Council’s car parks in North Finchley and provide additional parking facilities for local businesses and schools, the council is proposing to introduce a ‘car park’ permit which would entitle vehicles displaying a relevant permit to be parked in one of the following car parks during restricted periods.

Car Park

Restricted period

Number of spaces

 Castle Road

Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm

59

 Stanhope Road Lower

Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm

30

 Woodhouse Road

Monday to Saturday 8am to 6.30pm

10

The owners/managers of, or employees of businesses and schools within the North Finchley Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) would all be eligible to purchase a permit, up to a maximum of ten per year.  Each permit would have an identifier linking it to one of the three car parks, and the council would not sell more ‘car park’ permits than the spaces in each individual car park.

Each ‘car park’ permit would cost £350 per year and all applicants would need to have their permit application supported by the manager/owner of the business, or head teacher of the school.  Pay by phone and all other parking payment methods would no longer apply in these car parks.

Why We Are Consulting

We are keen to hear everyone’s views on the proposal, regardless of whether they are a business or school or not, as the changes would potentially affect those who utilise the relevant car parks. Your responses will help us assess whether or not to proceed in all, some or none of the car parks.

What Happens Next

The consultation has now closed and the council is currently analysing the results.

All the responses from the consultation will be taken into account and the Council will consider the responses to this consultation this Autumn.

The council will publish the findings here and we will also let you know how we are acting on the results of the consultation under ‘We asked, You said We Did.’
