News update: New rules on face coverings in shops and supermarkets

From Friday 24 July it is mandatory to wear a face covering when entering all shops and supermarkets. The wearing of masks is also encouraged in enclosed public spaces, in which it is more difficult to observe social distancing, or where people are more likely to come into contact with others they would not normally meet. You can find out more information about face coverings here. Children under the age of 11 do not need to wear face coverings and children under the age of three should not use face coverings. Full advice on who may not need to wear a face covering is available available here and a card for people requiring exemptions can be printed out from here.
