A celebration of health and wellbeing at Hendon Town Hall

On Wednesday 6 July, students and teachers from schools and early years settings across Barnet came together in a celebration of their fantastic achievements in the Healthy Schools London and Healthy Early Years London Awards.

In Barnet, 120 schools and 103 early years settings are registered with the scheme. The awards recognise the hard work of staff and pupils who have made health and wellbeing a priority at their schools and early years settings.

The event was opened by the Director of Public Health, Dr Tamara Djuretic, and staff and pupils shared some of the initiatives they had implemented and achievements made. The children also led a movement break which got everyone up out of their seats and dancing.

The Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Alison Moore, presented the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards to the attending students and staff

The schemes recognise efforts schools and early years settings make towards ensuring health and wellbeing is prioritised among staff and students.
