EPR Fees and Charges Consultation

Overview

ABOVE INFLATION AND NEW CHARGES

In December 2011, the Environment, Planning and Regeneration (EPR) directorate within the London Borough of Barnet will announce the schedule of fees and charges increases it intends to implement from March 2012.

Amidst spending cuts across the public sector, Barnet Council proposes to make further savings of £13.6 million in the next 2012/13 financial year which equates to a saving of £2.9m in the EPR budget for the same period. In order for us to continue to provide the level of service an increase in fees and charges generating approximately £400k of additional income is anticipated.

The fees and charges cover services delivered across a range of EPR services:

  • Greenspaces
  • Leisure
  • Highways
  • Refuse
  • Parking Permits
  • Trading Standards & Licensing
  • Recycling
  • Planning
  • Environmental Health
  • Cemetery & Crematorium
  • Street naming & numbering
  • Regeneration
  • Housing
  • Building Control

We will make it easier for our residents and businesses to review and consider the proposed fees and charges by presenting them according to the services listed above but also broken down into:

  • Fees and charges increased above the rate of inflation and new charges
  • Fees and charges increased at the rate of inflation and below
