The Future of Barnet’s Allotments
Barnet allotment holders are set to have a greater say about the way their sites are run.
A proposed new management scheme will allow allotment societies to take on a greater responsibility, including decision making on funding, maintenance and improvement works.
Plot holders are encouraged to put themselves forward for the scheme, which is part of the council’s ‘Big Society’ model.
Allotment holders attended an initial workshop on 18 January 2011 to begin the exploration of alternative management arrangements for Barnet’s allotments.

What happens next
Feedback from the 18 January workshop with Allotment holders has now been published. An additional workshop will now take place on Wednesday 20 April with prospective direct engagement sites.
