Kay opened Chai Khana in January 2020, inspired by his passion to share the vibrant flavors of Afghan street food and create a welcoming space for all.

'Chai Khana brings diversity to the high street. It is very unique café towards authentic Afghan cuisine, we do all the famous dishes of Afghanistan in terms of street food, including chapli kebab, bolani and Afghan burger. We also do biscuits, teas and cakes.

We opened in 2020 just at the beginning of COVID-19. Community support plays a crucial role for small businesses, particularly during challenging times like the pandemic. Our loyal customers helped us to go through this challenging time.'
