Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2018-2021 Public Consultation

All Local Authorities have Health and Wellbeing Boards. The aim of Health and Wellbeing Boards is to improve integration between practitioners in local health care, social care, public health and related public services so that patients and other service-users experience more "joined up" care, particularly in transitions between health care and social care.

The Barnet Health and Wellbeing Board is co-ordinated by the London Borough of Barnet and central government also requires Health and Wellbeing Boards to produce an assessment of pharmaceutical services in its area at least every three years. This is known as a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

How have we produced our Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)?

Last year, as part of the assessment, we carried out a survey with residents and professionals, seeking their views on pharmacy services in Barnet. The survey in particular looked at how easy it is to access pharmacy services in the borough.

The findings from this survey, and additional research we conducted on the residents’ health needs in the borough and the current provision of pharmaceutical services in Barnet has helped inform our Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

We are now consulting on the 2018-2021 Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment and would like to hear your views on pharmaceutical services in Barnet.

Who are we consulting and why?

We are required to consult with any patient and consumer living in Barnet, and also community groups in Barnet, and anyone who have an interest in the provision of pharmaceutical services. We therefore, welcome all your views on pharmaceutical services in Barnet.
